History of California Native Peoples and Good Allyship
It is essential to understand the history of the land and people of California, since it has been largely “hidden” or ignored in mainstream culture. We’ll hear the history of California Native Peoples—especially those of the Central Coast—from a Native Californian educator who teaches the history of the indigenous peoples of California and galvanizes good allyship. Allyship is the condition of being an ally; of supportive association with another person or group. We will also hear from a Native Californian archaeologist who has worked to preserve his cultural heritage for a quarter of a century as a writer and activist.
Presenter(s): Gregg Castro, Kanyon Sayers-Roods – Track: History

Ecosystem Restoration Camps California
https://eco-farm.org/conference/2020/session/ecosystem-restoration-camps-california
Based on the growing global Ecosystem Restoration Camp movement, we are drawing together our own collective intelligence to explore our potential impact in California. We seek connection with like-minded folks at this session. Because re-greening the earth sequesters carbon, our principles are aligned with ecological farming practices. Our mission is to work with local communities through action-based education, while creating camp experiences that transform degraded landscapes into lush, abundant, life-giving ecosystems. We will facilitate spaces conducive to remembering humans’ stewardship roles, land acknowledgment, cultural learning, and eco-social right livelihood.
